Sort is on the Outline menu. Sort organizes headlines that are one level below the selected headline. Sort has the following options:
Field Format Displays a pop-up menu with predefined formats. When a format is selected, it is displayed in the Type-in box. You can also type in a custom sort pattern in this box, using the pattern tokens of the Search command. (A summary of these pattern tokens is listed under the Search command.) The available field formats are:
Text Sorts alphanumeric characters, with numeric characters taking precedence over alpha characters.
Money Sorts headlines with monetary numbers (preceded by a dollar sign, “$”) anywhere in the headline.
Numbers Sorts headlines with plain numbers anywhere in the headline.
Time Sorts headlines with time numbers in the current format of the Time Stamp command.
Date Sorts headlines with date numbers in the current format of the Date Stamp command. To override the current date format, you can type yy:mm:dd or dd:mm:yy. MORE only sorts numeric dates. It does not sort abbreviated or full text dates.
Date Time Sorts headlines with date and time numbers anywhere in the headline.
Sort Descending Sorts in descending order if selected. Sorts in ascending order if not selected.
Sort Performs the specified sort. When sorting on formats other than Text, MORE sorts headlines that do not match the format alphabetically, and places them after the headlines that do match the format.
